Approach to Care __________________ Dr. Kromka’s approach to care begins with situating and understanding each individual’s symptoms within the specific social, psychological, developmental, and biological contexts unique to that person. Through comprehensive evaluation and close collaboration with patients, their families, and other members of their care team, treatment planning is then tailored to each patient’s needs and preferences in a dynamic process of shared decision-making. Drawing from longstanding tried-and-true therapies as well as innovative, novel treatments, Dr. Kromka is committed to providing high caliber evidence-based care ranging across different models of psychotherapy, medications, exercise and nutrition, and interventional treatments such as TMS, ketamine/esketamine, and ECT. Ultimately, the common goal across each distinctive care plan is to address psychiatric symptoms in a way that alleviates suffering and equips each person with the means for sustaining that recovery and cultivating an enriching, meaningful life.

Services

1
Initial Diagnostic Assessment
At this visit, you and Dr. Kromka will explore your reasons for seeking treatment and review your psychiatric, social, and medical histories. At the end of this appointment, Dr. Kromka will discuss his initial impressions and recommendations. If you and Dr. Kromka decide to continue working together, you will begin to collaboratively discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan to achieve them.
2
Medication Management
Medications are often an important part of mental health treatment. Prior to prescribing any medications, Dr. Kromka will discuss the potential risks, benefits, and alternatives to help you make an informed decision regarding your treatment options. The frequency of these appointments varies based on individual patient circumstances and needs, with more frequent visits generally occurring when starting, stopping, or adjusting medications.
3
One-time or Second Opinion Consultation
For those who are receiving treatment from another provider and would like a one-time consultation, Dr. Kromka can provide an in-depth assessment by reviewing your relevant medical records, discussing your psychiatric and medical histories, and utilizing evidence-based psychometric assessment tools. Dr. Kromka can provide a detailed written report with his diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations to you and/or your current provider(s). Please note that this visit is not for purposes of establishing a doctor-patient relationship or for pursuing ongoing care.

Are all appointments telehealth?Yes. Currently all appointments are conducted through a secure video platform. However, in-person visits may be necessary and/or preferred in certain circumstances. If applicable to your care, this will be reviewed and organized with you accordingly.
-
Can I use my insurance? At this time, Dr. Kromka operates on a fee-for-service basis and is considered out-of-network with all insurance companies. Therefore, unless otherwise informed, you will be personally responsible for the full cost of your treatment. However, certain insurance plans may offer out-of-network benefits. This generally means that you have the option to work with a clinician who is an out-of-network provider and your insurance company may reimburse you for a portion of the fees and services. Upon request, Dr. Kromka can provide you with a detailed statement called a "Superbill" documenting services, diagnostic codes, and payments. You can then submit this documentation to your insurance company for reimbursement consideration. It is alway a good idea to check with your insurance provider about out-of-network benefits before scheduling an appointment.
